Energising BeetActive Bites

These no bake bars are simple to prepare and make a wonderful speedy pre and post workout snack. 
They also freeze well - take them out 30 minutes before you need them to energise your training session. For a protein boost use chocolate protein powder rather than raw cacao powder. Instead of a bar you can roll the mixture into small walnut size balls. 

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 9 bars

Ingredients:

70g cahew nuts
25g raw cacao powder or chocolate protein powder
75g Soft putted dates, chopped
2 tbsp Whole chia seeds
40g BeetActive® Concentrate
3 tbsp Shelled hemp seeds
50g CherryActive® dried cherries
1tbsp Sunflower seeds or sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Put the cashew nuts in a food processor an process until fine. Add the cacao powder or protein powder, dates, chia seeds and BeetActive®. Process until combined. Pulse in the seeds and CherryActive® dried cherries. 
  2. Line a traybake tin with cling film or place some clingfilm on a chopping board. Press the mixture into a small rectangle shape about 2 cm thick. Place in the fridge to firm up.
  3. Cut into bars to serve. These will keep in the fridge for 4-5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
