This recipe makes the perfect pre-workout meal, the raw cacao gives it a rich chocolatey taste and the dietary nitrates in BeetActive® will give your training session a natural boost. Thanks to our Instagram follower Charlotte Bovey (@clbov.eats.and.crossfits) for this amazing dish.

 

Recipe: Makes 1 bowl

Ingredients:

125g Frozen banana

20g Vanilla whey protein powder

12g Raw cacao

150ml Unsweetened almond milk

30ml Beetactive®

Large handful of crushed ice 

Pinch of xanthan gum (not essential but makes for an extra thick smoothie bowl) 

 Method: 

1) Place all the ingredients in a blender and put the lid on making sure it is secure. 

2) Blend until the mixture is thick and fluffy.

3) Pour into a bowl and top with topping of your choice.
