Antioxidants
Antioxidants deactivate damaging free radicals - highly reactive compounds that cause damage to cells and contribute to the diseases and signs associated with the ageing process. Maintaining a high antioxidant diet may lower a person’s risk for disease, stimulate and protect the immune system and possibly slow the ageing process. Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) measures the antioxidant levels in food: CherryActive concentrate measures higher than many "superfoods".

Tart cherry juice decreases oxidative stress in healthy older men and women.
Traustadottir, T., Davies, S. S., Stock, A. A., Su, Y.,Heward, C. B.,Roberts, L. J., II, & Harman, S. M.(2009). Tart cherry juice decreases oxidative stress in healthy older men and women. The Journal of Nutrition, 139, 1896–1900. Abstract Compared with young adults, older adults have significantly impaired capacities to resist oxidative damage when faced with acute stress such as ischemia/reperfusion. This impairment likely contributes to increased morbidity and mortality in

Effects of antioxidant supplementation on the aging process.
Domenico Fusco, Giuseppe Colloca, Maria Rita LoMonaco, and Matteo Cesari Effects of antioxidant supplementation on the aging process. Clinical Interventions in Aging. Sep 2007; 2(3): 377–387. Abstract The free radical theory of aging hypothesizes that oxygen-derived free radicals are responsible for the age-related damage at the cellular and tissue levels. In a normal situation, a balanced-equilibrium exists among oxidants, antioxidants and biomolecules. Excess generation of

Development and validation of an improved oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay using fluorescein as the fluorescent probe.
Ou B, Hampsch-Woodill M, Prior RL. Development and validation of an improved oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay using fluorescein as the fluorescent probe. Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry Abstract An improved method of oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay has been developed and validated using fluorescein (3',6'-dihydroxyspiro[isobenzofuran-1[3H],9'[9H]-xanthen]-3-one) as the fluorescent probe. Our results demonstrate that fluorescein (FL) is superior
